Blackrock girls and Presentation Girls, Drogheda contested the 2010 - 2011 final. Blackrock got off to a very strong start with 3 well taken goals early on in the match and they went in at half-time with a very comfortable lead. Early in the second half Presentation put in a very determined effortand managed to close the gap. However, Blackrock reorganised and emerged very deserving county champions. There were great celebrations in the school when the girls brought back the cup.
One of the most enjoyable and most exciting events in our Gaelic F. calendar is the in school competitions. These competitions are arranged by Mr. Morahan and the children organise and referee the matches themselves. The Feb. 2011 final was a superb match between two very evenly matched teams, both of whom played to their own strengths. This game went to extra time with Ben's team emerging victorious over James' team by a very small margin. Congratulations to both teams for a very entertaining match.

GAA 125 Years - La Na Scoile
On Friday 24th. April 2009 the whole school joined in the national celebration of the GAA - 125 years.
Many children wore their football jersey to school and all 32 counties were represented. Teachers organised inter-class matches, skills competitions and drills.
The highlight of the day was the "Big Match" between the staff and the pupils, a game which was watched by the whole school community. The staff made a strong start and took an early lead and at half time they looked strong favourites!
However, with some positional changes and the introduction of new subs at half-time the pupils
made a strong recovery in the second half to lose by one point. After an inquiry it was discovered
that the staff team had broken some rules and the match was awarded to the pupils - a fair decision!!!
