Retirements
2011 saw three educators, teachers, mentors, colleagues and friends retire from their teaching career in St. Oliver Plunkett N.S. Joe Mc Kenna began his teaching career in 1969 and was Principal since 1995. Mary O' Brien came to live and work in Blackrock from Dublin in 1979 and Margaret Watters came to teach in Blackrock from Réalt na Mara N.S. in 1997. We wish all three a happy and healthy retirement as they close one chapter and open a new one.
An Irish Retirement Blessing
May you always have work for your hands to do,
May your pockets hold always a coin or two.
May the sun shine bright on your window pane,
May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you,
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
Ádh mór oraibh !
