The Annual National Cleanup took place on Saturday 17th April and was co-ordinated in Blackrock by the Blackrock Tidy Towns Committee. "Blackrock tidy towns Committee are delighted with the response to the National Spring Clean on Saturday last. A large number of people turned up and engaged enthusiastically in the clean up. Special thanks are due to the staff and students of St Oliver Plunket National school. We had enough participants to clear the foreshore from the Loakers in the North the Boathouse in the South. Also cleared were the New Line and Sally’s Pass. The skip, provided for the purpose, was filled with items collected. Thanks are due to all who participated, it is testament to the pride people have in their village" said Chairman John Horan.
