What a fantastic week we have had here at St Oliver Plunkett NS for Book Week.

Every child had the opportunity to enjoy a favourite book during the school day for DEAR (Drop Everything and Read). Buddy reading is taking place where children from 4th Class to 6th Class buddy up with children from Junior Infants to 3rd Class.

Our Junior Infant and 1st class pupils enjoyed story time with Jane Stanley. Our Senior Infant classes enjoyed story time with Story Teller, Brenda.  Children’s Author, Louise Flanagan had a zoom with the children in 3rd class.  Our 2nd Class students took a trip to the Louth County Library and enjoyed time browsing their large selection of fun and entertaining literature.  Children’s Author Valinora Troy entertained and enthralled our 4th, 5th and 6th class students.  Students in 5th & 6th Class took part in a book and literature quiz on Thursday.

A VERY big THANK YOU to our Parents Association for organising an extremely successful Book Fair again this year, students, parents, guardians and child minders had the opportunity to purchase from an amazing selection of books.

To finish off a successful week children & teachers dressed up as their favourite character from their favourite book.  Please take a look below at all our wonderful characters.
