What is an Active School Flag?

The Active School Flag (ASF) is awarded to schools that strive to achieve a physically educated and physically active school community. The process aims to get more schools, more active, more often.

*The World Health Organisation recommends that children and youth aged 5–17 should accumulate at least 60 minutes of moderate- to vigorous-intensity physical activity daily.*

Last year we earned our Active Schols Flag thanks to the hard work of Ms. Matthews and Ms. Thornton. We had many different events going on in the school over the course of the year to promote excercise and a healthy lifestyle such as;

Workout Wednesday

6th Class pupils have been trained as ‘Playground Leaders’ and every Wednesday they play games with the pupils in the infant yard. We have two different playground games every month for each year group. The yard is zoned and we use sports equipment too!

Music is played over the intercom at little lunch every Friday, even on wet days!!
